Something New!

Been a while since I was last here, finished my Christmas cards already this week. They are so cool, I love them I ended up combining 2 different elements. I saw a wiper card and had already seen a really cute Elf Shoe Card, the shoe card was done by Patty Lee. Have seen it other places but believe this is the one that got me inspired. The wiper card was done by several people also, Janine Tinklenberg made hers. I decided I loved both of the cards and came up with a blended version I hope all of you will enjoy. I drew out the shoes and made a svg of them also the detailing of the shoes. The cute peppermint candy I found on line and scrap-lifted it and created a printout in the size I wanted and punched it out with my 1/4" hole punch from Creative Memories. The legs were made from a cute company I found out at the convention in Jacksonville in September. I was from Canvas Corp. the print was Kraft & Ribbon Stripe CCP2370. The cards themselves I had two pads of Designer Paper from K&Company one was Designer Glad Tidings and the other is the same name, but the speciality paper version. I took the 12 x 12 double sided paper cut it 4 1/2 inches wide and 9 1/4 long. You need 2 pieces of so I measured the 12 x 12 cut it down to 9"x 9 1/4" I cut that in half vertically to create the sides of the cards. Get your svg here for the shoes, shoe detailing and legs, the santa chimney I made myself also saw a cute idea and drew it out also have it as an svg.  Trying to figure out how to get the svgs out here also have them in scut files.  Also will add a page with the measurement on it .
I was finally able to get the files out here, there are 2 scut files as well as a pdf for the instructions, I am a little rusty on that part but should be able to follow. Elf Shoe Instruction, Elf Shoes scut fileSanta chimney and feet, the SVG for the elf shoes and chimney is here

Again been long gone

Here I am again been gone from here for a while I have ideas about what to write but just never get around to it. So much fr writing the next great novel that again has been bouncing around in my head. It will probably never come to fruition. When I think about writing about my life I do not worry about what will come out in the wash at this point in time the people I would be mentioning are dead so they will not know so it does not really matter. Again if the book was written I do not know that I would want to make the daytime show circuit. That is a lot of fun but it would probably get old after a few talking again and again about the book, blah blah blah....heard it get over it...So i the interim I have been scrap-booking stories. Someone somewhere on some blog had mentioned a story about a coat hanger do not remember the punch line but know thinking aback that could really conjure up some seriously weird thoughts. Anyway last night went to a new shop here in town and finally scrapped a few of my stories. These are things about me that happened when I was younger so one day even though my girls have heard them more than once I tend to repeat myself sometimes like who does not....they will have them in the book to tell their kids that your grandma was out there...she did this and this,,,alsong with some pics that had to be web lifted....I told about TV shows I watched one particular memory was 7:30 o Sunday night getting ready for bed washed my hair and was in the living room to watch "Wonderful World of Disney". It was the Sunday night ritual. Will post pics of pages later got to take pics of the pics...

New page layout

Been a while since I last posted not something I had planned on doing, thought I was going to get out here and blab all the time, just have not had a lot on my mind to write about. I did finally do a really cute page layout that I thought would be fun to share. Since I have dogs and not grandkids this is what occupies my time in scrapbooking when I am not off visiting holidays and taking other pictures. The dogs win, in the layout we have Lucy she is our German Pointer mixed with Chocolate Lab. I had made this hooded dog coat(Pirates of Caribbean fleece on sale) for last year because she goes to work with me everyday and gets cold in our office. This one day she was sitting on porch and it just hit me to take her picture. Then of course I posed her with the hood up farther than other pic. Then of course I had to photoshop bling on her and add the back round to make it look like graffiti. When you get a vision of what you want to do with a pic it just kinda grows. So here is Lucy with her diamond necklace on looking all bad, and the others were taken in the park next door. The back round for the page is grout cut out of grey paper layered over dk red paper. The red paper was sponged with black and white to make it look more distressed. Then I cut out red bricks to hold the pictures on the pages for a more fun effect. Just was too fun for words.

Saturday, December 11, 2010

Well since it did not let me continue with blog, here it is. I am leaving on Wednesday to go up to DC with my daughter and her husband, to spend Christmas up there and finish looking around DC. So I have had to get the office in shape Husband is going to go up there every so often to do so billing and this and that. Hopefully not much happens while I am gone but you never know in a vets office, it could be quiet or hell on wheels. Got to go for now got to stuff Christmas cards for office so they are done before I leave.....
Well here it is Saturday Dec 11, 2010, I have not been a prolific writer on this blog thought this would be a place to put intimate thoughts about whatever was going through my head at the time....either I have not had thoughts or no time think it is the latter. The computer at work got a virus last Wednesday and boy what a mess that could have been, we had Mozy which I thought was going to save the day but actually it only had a few of the files I thought had been save in their entirety. Guess again! When I installed the rescue files that had come with the computer ages ago I told it to only install original equipment so it did not disturb any files that were there. It ended up taking the computer back to original out of box condition, The caveat there was that the computer does a backup every so often and the backup had everything I had thought I had lost.

Jack n' Box

Yet another former DXF file worked again I made the facial features separate as well as the puff on hat , hat and hands so u can change colors if u wish. This is not to be confused with the drive thru!! http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=f1120a0e206cdcec9bf8d6369220dcabe04e75f6e8ebb871

Baby Train

Was going through some old DXF files I had from the Wishblade.....and decided needed to make them again since I know more about Inkscape now than then. The first offer is a Baby train the letters can be removed the wheels cut separate as well as the hubs on the wheels. Have fun wil get to work on some others I made a year or so ago, never saved teh svg back then figured would never need it. Bad idea! here is the file below http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=f1120a0e206cdcec9bf8d6369220dcabe04e75f6e8ebb871
